What it does

Prepare for technical and behavioral interviews by generating targeted study guides and mock question sets. Instead of guessing what recruiters want, you get a structured breakdown of the essential skills, certifications, and projects that belong on a resume for a specific role. It bridges the gap between a generic job description and the actual knowledge required to pass a technical screen, helping you identify gaps in your experience and prioritize your revision. It is particularly useful when pivoting to a new tech stack or preparing for a high-stakes interview at a company where you aren't sure of the exact evaluation criteria.

Use cases

  • Resume Optimization: Identifying which keywords and technical competencies to highlight for a specific job title to pass ATS filters.
  • Interview Prep: Generating a list of likely technical questions to practice your delivery and technical accuracy.
  • Skill Gap Analysis: Comparing your current knowledge against the suggested "curriculum" to see what you need to learn before applying.
  • Career Pivoting: Understanding the core requirements of a new role (e.g., moving from Frontend to Fullstack) to tailor your learning path.

How to use

Provide the AI with a specific job title. You can either use the base prompt below or refine it by adding a seniority level (e.g., "Senior Software Engineer") or a specific industry (e.g., "FinTech Software Engineer") for more tailored results.

I want you to act as a Talent Coach for interviews. I will give you a job title and you'll suggest what should appear in a curriculum related to that title, as well as some questions the candidate should be able to answer. My first job title is "Software Engineer".

Tips

  • Add Seniority: Specify levels like "Junior," "Staff," or "Lead" to ensure the suggested curriculum and questions match the expected experience level.
  • Include the Job Description: After the initial prompt, paste the actual job posting to get a highly customized set of questions based on the company's specific requirements.
  • Request Mock Interviews: Once the AI provides the questions, ask it to "interview me one question at a time" to practice your responses in real-time.
  • Ask for "Ideal Answers": If you struggle with a suggested question, ask the coach to provide a "Star Method" example answer for that specific prompt.

Notes

  • Generic Defaults: Without a specific company or industry, the AI will provide industry-standard expectations which may vary slightly from niche company cultures.
  • Not a Substitute for Coding: While it helps with theoretical and behavioral prep, you still need to practice live coding on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank.
