Apple Intelligence Coming to China Soon
It looks like the wait for a localized AI experience on iPhone is finally coming to an end. For a long time, there was a lot of uncertainty regarding how Apple would navigate the specific regulatory landscape in China, but the news that the filing has been cleared suggests we are in the home stretch.
From my perspective, this isn't just about adding a new feature; it's about Apple reclaiming its competitive edge in one of its most critical markets. Without Apple Intelligence, the hardware ecosystem feels somewhat disconnected from the current generative AI wave. Now that the regulatory path is clear, I expect we will see a very polished, localized implementation that respects regional nuances while maintaining that seamless Siri integration we've come to expect. It will be interesting to see if they partner with local cloud providers to power the backend, as that seems to be the most logical move for latency and compliance.
